Week 3- Refining best poster idea

Sayings and Type Research, Refining Ideas

I tried out different sayings to hopefully push the meaning of the illustrated poster further. Still working on type and text though. I think Our concept is based around respecting the beach and the animals by not drinking and littering. The picture is showing the seagull copying what people do at the beach (what seagulls do). The image displays the irony of people at a beach.

Type Research

I went for mostly curvy font or handwritten type font. I like the relaxed vibe that those types of fonts give off and I think it suits the topic of the beach. Still looking through for more though for more variety, but I might just edit these fonts in the meantime.

Experimenting with Sayings

Tried the saying as the second thing you see on the poster and using the clean up as the main point.

added some colour to the background to test whether it needed another colour. I think it looks better without the colour though (seems more clean). However, the colour does make it feel more warm like the beach.

Layout Thumbnailing

We discussed the Trans-media we would be using and here's some thumbnailing I did on the layout just to get an idea of where things could go. Probably will change when actually designing the graphics for them though.

Items to try out in image

Going with the idea of using NZ stuff in the poster. If you get the time maybe try out these as the junk food to use as the pile that the seagull is on top of. Oh and  also, the seal and the penguin that you mentioned.

probably could try out bottles as well as cans of L and P, like you said.
