I finished updating/ adding to the pile of cans. Then I went on photoshop and reassembled it. Adding the pohutakawa to make it more of a New Zealand beach feel.

Poster backgrounds...
Having a look at what backgrounds suits the overall composition/ image better. We agreed that the bottom choice was more successful so we will be continuing with that style.
Flyer background possibilities
Started playing around with some textures that could be a possibility for the flyer. Depending on how the poster ends up will probably effect what the background for the flyer ends up like so they can be cohesive.
Poster- Developments
Screenshots of Trials
Tried out the call to action discussed in class. Seems to work better in my opinion. Also, tried more retro kind of font because the poster has a retro feeling to it.
Was struggling with some call to actions, so I decided to go for beach puns. I think it could work for the event, to make it approachable and not to serious and to attract more people to clean the beach.
Note: Not really targeting a specific beach, but decided to use one of the beaches as a placeholder or just to see what the name of a beach would look like on the poster.
Still working on text layout and type selection. Tried out call to action :
Some things don't belong on the Beach.
tried the poster with a bigger image of seagull and changed text type and layout slightly for second one.
We decided on maybe using lobster, in class. So I tried out the different call to actions in the lobster font.
Tried out Call to action: Sea life's Beauty
Tried out Call to action: Seas the Day
Changed type arrangement
Tried out some colour for the title? think it needs any colour? probably don't want to draw too much focus off the image though.
More type and layout trials. Tried out retro type font. Curved block font and also the curly retro type font. (retro loop, retro italics)

Website- Homepage trials
Trials
Tried out coding and making Homepage. Managed to get the resource button working and place a background image, and also add some type. Here's what I have so far.
Still Creating imagery so just using this as a place holder for when we finish our other imagery to put on the website.
added navigation bar?
Got rid of the dark border on navigation bar?
fixed issue with zooming and the boxes moving. Worked when I set margins for the sections. Also, changed colour of the background to a lighter shade of blue.
Used call to action as the main title?
Planned some layouts for flyer
Here's some Ideas I had- to continue the story of the seagull.
Website- Seagull walks past the pile of rubbish.
Flyer- Seagull doesn't care and drops rubbish on beach. Human hand picks up rubbish.
Bag- seagull and human hand putting rubbish in bin.

Poster Background
Just trying out some different possible backgrounds for the poster. Was told to add some water to it so it looked more like a beech and maybe even some trees or some rocks. I think i'll add a pohutukawa flower to the pile of cans to make it feel more NZ beachy.

Possible Top tips for flyer
Top Tips
- dispose of your rubbish responsibly - Recycle and reuse - Otherwise put it in the bin
- BalloonsAnimals can eat them and choke or become impacted.
- Cut balloons up before putting in the bin.
- Don’t release balloons as they can land anywhere - Chinese lanterns
Chinese lanterns , also known as sky lanterns, can seriously injure animals. - Containers and cans
Animals looking for food can get trapped in cans or injured by sharp edges.
- Clean and empty containers.
- Pinch cans shut and cut containers in half.
- Recycle where possible. - Elastic bandsThese can wrap around small animals and beaks of birds. If swallowed they can cause choking.
- Reuse bands when possible or cut them open before putting in a bin. - Fishing tackleAnimals can get entangled in line and hooks can pierce skin or be swallowed.
- GlassBroken glass can cause serious injury and animals can get trapped in jars.
- Clean and recycle glass. - Plastic bagsAnimals can climb inside and suffocate, or eat them and choke.
- Tie bags in a knot before recycling. - Plastic can holders
Animals can get entangled, and suffer deep wounds or choke.
- Always cut the loops before recycling.
- If an area is known for drug use, don't have children picking up rubbish. For yourself, wear solid shoes to avoid getting an accidental needlestick injury. And wear proper gloves and carry mechanical litter pick-up devices.
- Teach children to never stick their fingers inside anything, be it a container, shell or whatever else that creates a possible hiding spot for an animal that might sting, bite or shoot barbs. Some animals, such as the blue ringed octopus, live inside human rubbish like drink cans and can deliver a fatal bite or sting if handled unawares.

Introduction- Draft (started a little bit)
People are unaware of the effects that our litter has on the animals around our coasts. When we leave litter lying around, it can travel, spread and harm or trap sea animals. The toxins contained in our rubbish can also affect the food we eat and also spread disease. We should care more about our coasts and avoid destroying the habitats of the animals. An hour of harmless laziness could be the result of many animals being harmed or even destroy the beauty in our coasts.

Layout Concepts
Tried out some text layouts for the flyer. When putting the text in the squares I found that some of the information didn't fit. Maybe shrinking text size would work , and tried portrait. We were thinking of maybe doing a postcard type flyer where the image is on the front and the text at the back could work as well.
Mood page- layouts/design/FADPs/Type
Maybe use colour to highlight the imagery and have white space separating each section.
I was thinking of maybe we could use some hand sketched stuff. Would give off that rustic- ish vibe that the beach has. Use it to contrast the digitally illustrated imagery in flyers.
We did want to use pattern somehow in our imagery. I think if we still want to we could use it in the background of our digitally illustrated imagery, by using textured paper or handmade mark making. I think it could work well that way.
reusable bags
Simple designs/shapes on front and back?
Could use the illustrated imagery as a pattern for our bag design?
Could illustrate an image and use it on bag.
